Increasing engagement within and beyond the school community deepens our connections to one another and our neighbors, increases our visibility, enhances school spirit, and encourages a culture of giving and participating, in and beyond school grounds.
I. Compelling Community + School Service
A. Make community service a central element of the HRA experience by expanding student volunteer opportunities (for Lower School students, in particular)
B. Expand and develop cross-divisional service opportunities to strengthen community in and beyond our campus, focusing particularly on Upper School and Lower School student interactions
C. Empower students to serve our school as ambassadors for admissions events and outreach
II. Elevating Athletics + Arts Programming
A. Evaluate arts and athletic offerings annually
B. Broaden participation in sports at all grade levels by encouraging all students to participate in a sport in some way and continuing to promote growth and development for athletes in the off season
C. Enhance sports programming by providing more Middle and Upper School offerings
D. Expand opportunities for artistic exploration and performance, leveraging the success and renown of our arts program
E. Attract artistically talented students to HRA by raising community recognition and support for the arts
III. Nurturing Our School Culture
A. Strengthen connections between teachers and parents
B. Evaluate internal messaging and communications (all-school, divisional, and departmental)
C. Improve perceptions and realities around belonging and fairness
